EPISODE 83: "Cruel Jaws (1995)"

We push on with the “Summer of Scares” series, and we have the perfect film for all your Shark Week needs - full of repurposed footage from other, objectively better shark movies, slabs of meat (and not just in the form of the terrible cast), dolphins masking as sharks, and a little kid in a wheelchair who does a full MAC AND ME off a pier. That’s right, monsters, on this episode, I will be taking a bite out of the direct-to-video Italian shark attack film, CRUEL JAWS, from 1995. EPISODE 82: "Nightmare Beach (1989)"

It’s "The Summer of Scares Series", and we have perhaps the ultimate summer slasher in store for you today, full of motorcycle madmen, reused DEMONS (1985) biker jackets, wet t-shirt contests, and plenty of horny teen shenanigans. That’s right, monsters, on this episode, I will be diving into the late 80’s Italian slasher, NIGHTMARE BEACH, from 1989! EPISODE 81: "The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)"

The Summer of Scares series continues, and for this episode we are tackling another sequel, one whose killers hide in the dark of a trailer park, the neon glow of a pool, and ask the question we may never get the answer to: “is Tamara home?" That’s right monsters, on this episode, I will be discussing the eerie slasher sequel, THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT, from 2018. In the News Corner, I'll have SAW XI news, as well as a new biography on horror master, Wes Craven. So grab your best dollface mask, because this episode is going to get STRANGE!

EPISODE 80: "Final Destination 3 (2006)"

We continue with "The Summer of Scares" series, and we are heading for a date with death by rollercoaster. So settle into your tanning beds, because on this episode, I will be talking about the third installment of the premonition horror franchise, FINAL DESTINATION 3, from 2006. In the News Corner, I'll have an update on the CREEP franchise, as well as POLTERGEIST II 4K news, so buckle in monsters, because on this episode, death is coming for all of us!

EPISODE 79: "Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988)"

This week, we head to Camp Rolling Hills for my "Summer of Scares" series, with the return of a classic slasher villain, and plenty of disparate age groups, creative kills, and, of course, lots of gore and nudity. That's right, monsters, on this episode, I will be covering the campy slasher sequel, SLEEPAWAY CAMP 2: UNHAPPY CAMPERS, from 1988. In the News Corner, I'll have 4k franchise news, as well as an Ari Aster film heading back into theaters. So, grab your guitars and get ready to Kumbaya for your life, because this episode is getting campy!

EPISODE 78: "Aquaslash (2019)"

I am rolling on with "The Summer of Scares Series", and for this episode, we have movie filled with blood, boobs, and one elaborate waterslide set piece. Grab your innertubes monsters, because on this episode, I will be diving into the splashy slasher, AQUASLASH, from 2019. In the News Corner, I'll have some NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET news, as well as an update on Showtime's upcoming Dexter prequel series. Dive in monsters, because we're about to slide and dice!

EPISODE 77: "Piranha (1978)"

We are back from a brief hiatus monsters, and I am so excited, because this episode kicks off my "Summer of Scares' series - think summer-related horror, beach stuff, camp stuff, vacation stuff, and even summer horror blockbusters. And we are launching with a horror classic. It’s definitely not safe to go back into the water, because on this episode, I will be discussing the campy creature classic from Joe Dante, PIRANAHA, from 1978.  In the News Corner, I'll have updates on the upcoming 28 Years Later sequel as well as Friday the 13th news. So grab a raft and guard those tootsies, because we're taking a bite out of this one!

EPISODE 76: "Frankenhooker (1990)"

For this episode we get reanimated, with a Frankenstein tale featuring plenty of boobs, Jersey accents, ladies of the night, body parts, and exploding heads galore. Wanna date, mister, because on this episode I will be discussing the campy horror classic, FRANKENHOOKER, from 1990! EPISODE 75: "The Horror of the Oscars"

It is the 75th episode of The Horror Files, and what better way to celebrate then with a very special episode. The 96th Academy Awards are happening tonight, and of all the nominated movies, zero are for horror films. So, I wanted took at why horror seems to be so marginalized in mainstream awards circles, the history of horror films that have been able punch through that barrier, and if it is even essential for horror to be accepted by mainstream awards. That's right monsters, For this episode, I will be discussing "The Horror of The Oscars!"

EPISODE 74: "Needful Things (1993)"

For this episode we are in Castle Rock, Maine, where the devil has opened up an unassuming shop to tempt you with the object you most desire. But be warned...it will come at a VERY high price.  That’s right monsters, for this episode, I will be discussing the sinister Stephen King tale, NEEDFUL THINGS, from 1993.
