EPISODE 66: ”Silent Night, Deadly Night: Part 2 (1987)”

For this episode, I am continuing my Silent Night Deadly Night Slay-a-Thon with the follow up that became a meme phenomenon, the movie that is really, well….only half a new movie, the sequel that got everyone saying “Garbage Day!” …SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT: PART 2, from 1987. In the News Corner, I'll have info on a new streaming deal for A24 with HBO/Max, a new DARKMAN (1990) 4K Ultra HD release, and some delicious new merch for TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE fans. EPISODE 65: ”Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)”

The Horror Files is kicking of the holiday season with enough axes, Kris Kringle trauma, and bloody bodies to fill Santa’s sled. Yes, I will be taking on the “Silent Night, Deadly Night” franchise, and we kick it off today, with the original, the controversial, the one that put the “ho” in holiday homicide…Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984). In the News Corner, we'll have updates on Robert Eggers upcoming Nosfaratu remake, as well as more casting news on the upcoming Alien series coming to FX. So grab your Santa hat and repressed childhood trauma because he knows when you've been naughty!
 

Episode 64: ”The Exorcist: Believer (2023)”

We conclude our EXORCIST series with the latest installment for the franchise - featuring double-possessed tweens, a religious "Avengers assemble!", and a director gone mad with power. That’s right monsters, I will be discussing the David Gordon Greene sequel, THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER (2023)!

Episode 63: ”Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist (2005)”

We are nearing the finish line to our EXORCIST franchise series. This episode, we examine the second of the two prequels, featuring the same characters played by different actors, and Stellan Skarsgard still looking absolutely miserable that he’s in two of these horrible films. That’s right monsters, I’ll be discussing the sequel so unnice they made it twice, DOMINION: PREQUEL TO THE EXORCIST (2005)!

EPISODE 62: ”Exorcist: The Beginning (2004)”

We are  half-way through our EXORCIST franchise series, and hoo boy, this is where things really start to get dicey - we have sexy possessed doctor with a fouler mouth than Don Rickles, a horrific birthing scene, and worse animated hyenas than THE LION KING. That’s right monsters, on this episode, I will be talking about the FIRST of two EXORCIST prequels, EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING (2004).

EPISODE 61: ”The Exorcist III (1990)”

I am back with the next film in my Exorcist Franchise Series. For this episode, we have serial killers, giant steel decapitating scissors, and perhaps the best jump scare of all time. That's right, monsters, for this episode, I will be talking about the underrated thriller sequel, THE EXORCIST III from 1990!

EPISODE 60: ”Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)”

We are continuing our EXORCIST franchise series with the follow up that asks the question, "what is a horse designed by a committee?" It's hypnotism, African demon possession, and one pretty checked-out Richard Burton galore in this mishmash of a sequel. That’s right monsters, on this episode, I will be talking about the supernatural follow-up to the original, EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC, from 1977!

EPISODE 59: ”The Exorcist (1973)”

The Horror Files is back, monsters! After a break for the summer, we are back with a demon-sized episode that will be the first in a mini-series. Ahead of the release of David Gordon Greene’s “The Exorcist: Believer” coming out October 6th, The Horror Files will be looking at all the films in the Exorcist franchise, and we are kicking it off with the mother, the behemoth cultural touchstone that launched a thousand knockoff possession films -  William Friedkin’s THE EXORCIST, from 1973. So grab a piping hot bowl of pea soap and your best Pazuzu plushie, because this episode will possess you!

EPISODE 58: ”Horror Files Favs - Vampire Flicks”

It's another "Horror Files Favs" episode monsters! I'll be giving you my top picks in a particular horror sub-genre, and to make it even more special, I'm doing double the picks (that means 10 of my favs)! And for this entry, you'll want to grab your crucifix and holy water because I will be counting down my favorite vampire flicks! So buckle up kids, because the fangs are coming out!

EPISODE 57: ”Video Nasties: The Burning (1981)”

We are back with another installment in our Video Nasties series. This episode, we head to Camp Stonewater, where a killer with a years-long grudge to work out, takes out his rage on a group of campers with a big pair of gardening shears.. That’s right monsters, on this episode, I will be talking about the summer camp slasher classic, THE BURNING (1981).  In the Horror Files News Corner, we'll have info on the release date for Jordan Peele's next project, as well as some Blu-ray/4K/UHD news for James Wan's INSIDIOUS, and Robert Egger's THE LIGHTHOUSE.
