Episode 46: ”The Void (2016)”

For this episode, we take a reality bending trip to a small town hospital, where grief, guilt, and resurrection collide in a dizzying array of monsters, guts, and hooded cultists. That’s right monsters, on this episode, I will be discussing the 2016 Lovecraftian indie horror film, THE VOID. In the Horror Files News Corner, I'll have casting news for Tim Burton's Wednesday show for Netflix, as well as Showtime's upcoming Let The Right One In series. So grab your triangle robe and strap in because this episode is a real mind-bender!

Episode 45: ”Video Nasties: A Bay of Blood (1971”

This episode, The Horror Files kicks off our new ongoing "Video Nasties" series with a bang, as we take a look at Mario Bava's fantastically brutal, giallo slasher, A BAY OF BLOOD from 1971. In the Horror Files News Corner, I'll have the deets on a new Dr. Jekyll film coming from the legendary Hammer Films studio, as well as upcoming Scream Factory and Vinegar Syndrome Blu-Ray and 4K releases. So grab your shotgun and pretend your parents are only playing dead, because this episode is going to be a bloodbath!

Episode 44: ”The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) VS. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)”

We are back from hiatus and are now recording from Portland, OR! For this episode, we gas up our chainsaws and don our fleshy face masks, because The Horror Files will be looking at the original and most recent iterations in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise: the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974 and 2022’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Episode 43: ”The Snowman (2017)”

It’s officially the holiday season, and as such I am kicking off my holiday horror month with a film filled with snow, wildly conflicting accents, lots of looking at people through windows, and a killer who is positively coo-coo for making snowmen. That’s right monsters, on this episode, I will be discussing the 2017 thriller film, THE SNOWMAN. In the Horror Files News Corner, I will have casting news on the upcoming REINFIELD film from Universal, some upcoming Stan Lee horror films, and big Anne Rice film adaptation news. Grab your coffee beans and mommy complex, because this episode is going to be downright chilling!

Episode 42: ”Blood Rage (1987) w/Special Guest Rich Harris”

For this episode, we are wrapping up our Thanksgiving horror celebration month with perhaps one of the most popular turkey day films for horror fans, filled with identical twins, blood, and gore. You got it, monsters - for this episode we will be discussing BLOOD RAGE from 1987! To help me on this Thanksgiving romp through Shadow Woods, I've enlisted Rich Harris, reviewer for the fantastic SlashInTheAttic Instagram account. Together, we will talk the brilliance of Louise Lasser's acting choices, I get my mind blown by the cameo of a make-up effects master, and we discuss the necessity of a BLOOD RAGE prequel. Grab your machete guys, because that still ain't cranberry sauce!

Episode 41: ”Blood Freak (1972)”

We are kicking off our Thanksgiving horror celebration month with perhaps one of the craziest horror films of the holiday season - filled with drugs, sex, sideburns, and turkey experimentation. That’s right, monsters, on this episode I will be discussing the EXTREMELY low-budget, fowl-themed film, BLOOD FREAK.  In the Horror Files News Corner, I'll have KRAMPUS "the Naughty Cut" news, as well as a new horror comedy coming from Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. Grab that sweet hippie weed and eat some turkey, because this episode is for the birds!

Episode 40: ”Confessions of a Puppetmaster: An Interview with Charles Band”

In the world of horror and exploitation films, there’s few that could say they’ve had the monumental highs and the rock-bottom lows as master of Grindhouse cinema, Charles Band has. A renowned producer, director, and media mogul, Band has amassed a catalog of over 360 films to his credit as a producer and director, including such cult classics as GHOULIES, TOURIST TRAP, and of course, the PUPPET MASTER franchise. His new memoir, Confessions of a Puppetmaster: A Hollywood Memoir of Ghouls, Guts, and Gonzo Filmmaking is set to be released on November 16, 2021. I was fortunate to sit down recently with Charles and ask him about the guts, gore, and glory that has been his 40-year career.

For this episode, I will be tackling his re-imaginings of the films HALLOWEEN (2007) and HALLOWEEN II (2009), discussing the quiet beauty of his psycho-hillbilly aesthetic, white horses as blatant metaphors, and how I, your devout horror host, REALLY don't want to know how the hot dogs are made.
